NArFU PhD Student: «Presidential Scholarship Provides Excellent Opportunity To Work With World’s Leading Researchers»

Svetlana Kuznetsova, a PhD student at NArFU Higher School of Energy, Oil and Gas, won the all-Russian open competition for the President Scholarship Programme for studies abroad. The winners (both Master’s and PhD students) were granted an opportunity to study at leading international universities and research centres. Svetlana spent the autumn semester 2021 doing internship at UiT-The Arctic University of Norway.

First-year students of Higher School of Fishery and Marine Technologies visited the Museum of Arkhangelsk Algae Factory. Students were told about algae harvesting, iodine production in the north and the factory products. Moreover, they found out about climatic features that make it possible for algae to grow.

Students of Higher School of Fishery and Marine Technologies Took Part in Youth Conference «Life and Work of Nikolay Rubtsov»

On January 19, on the death anniversary of Russian poet Nikolay Rubtsov, the First City Youth Conference took place. It was dedicated to the life and works of the poet. Eight reports were presented in person. Participants from Saint-Petersburg showed two videos online. The reports and videos were on the life of the poet, his motherland, understated beauty of Russian nature and poems he wrote when he was a child. The conference included Rubtsov’s poems and songs with lyrics by him. They were sung by Maria Povilaitis.

On November 18-20th, 2021, All-Russian Scientific Conference "Development of Scientific and Literary Translation and Literature of the Peoples of Russia: from the Time of Lomonosov to the Present Day" took place in NArFU. The conference highlighted a number of pressing problems of modern translation studies as well as issues on preserving scientific and translation heritage of great scientist M. Lomonosov. The conference gave birth to many scientific projects.
