Good Practice Recommendations for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Public Participation in EIA in the Arctic

To provide an Arctic-specific EIA tool that can be applied in the vulnerable and changing Arctic environment, taking into account the indigenous peoples and other inhabitants living there.

Circumpolar etnography

Project objectives:

  • To develop the UArctic thematic network application to be submitted and endorsed in 2018;
  • To define priority topics and cooperation directions relevant for all project partners;
  • To create a platform for future network activities (joint field schools, joint modules/courses in existing MA programmes);
  • To start development of the next application for external funding.

Adapt Northern Heritage/Adapt northern cultural heritage to the environmental impacts of climate change and associated natural hazards through community engagement and informed conservation planning

Project objectives:  

-To develop procedures for risks and vulnerabilities assessments and sustainable adaptation planning of historic places and to make the procedures accessible through online software;

-To produce a select adaptation action plans to demonstrate how the environmental impacts of climate change and associated natural hazards can be integrated into conservation planning;

-To create a network for stakeholders concerned with the conservation of northern cultural heritage in the context of a changing climate to contribute, engage, learn and network.

Teacher Education for Social Justice and Equality in the Arctic (2017-2019)

Project objective: The project will focus on knowledge exchange around inclusive and effective practices, such as Arctic pedagogy that incorporates indigenous pedagogical practices; innovative approaches to education in sparsely populated areas; community-based education; using technology to enhance participation and agency; and pedagogical models for multi-modal and digital environments.

Anthroponymika des deutschsprachigen Internet-Raums

Ziel: Erweiterung der theoretischen und praktischen Basis der Forschung mittels der Heranziehung von deutschen Literaturquellen und Kollegen; Durchführung vom linguistischen Experiment mit deutschsprachigen Muttersprachlern; allseitige wissenschaftliche Zusammenarbeit, Beratung und Kooperation mit deutschen Kollegen; Popularisierung vom erforschten Thema und seine Darstellung unter der wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft von BRD und RF.

Arctic Biomonitoring Laboratory

Direction of scientific research:

Development of methodology for monitoring, assessment, prediction and prevention of risks associated with the high level toxic polluting substances transfer via biological pathways. These substances can accumulate in the food chain and spread in Arctic ecosystems.

Program TEMPUS:

Actions of Lifelong Learning Addressing Multicultural Education and Tolerance in Russia

Rendering support to the Russian higher education modernization, development of higher education institutions as long-life learning centers. The focus of the project is aimed at studying migration, intercultural communication and human rights, in order to raise the level of tolerance towards people of immigrant’s background and other minorities.

Achieving and Checking the Alignment Between Academic Programmes and Qualification Frameworks

The ALIGN project seeks to enhance the intelligibility, consistency and transferability of qualifications through development and implementation of mechanisms for HEis to achieve alignment with QFs (qualification frameworks) and for EQAs to check such alignment.

Elaboration of Qualification Framework for Land Management Studies at Russian Universities

Objectives:  Enhancement of quality and relevance of higher education in Russian Federation and increasing convergence with EU developments through elaboration of qualifications frameworks.
