The Institute is tasked with development and implementing of health-saving technologies to foster public health in the North. The strategic goal of the Institute is development of scientifically-approved standards of human activity in the northern Arctic region.
Established in 2011, Biomedical Research Institute is a successor to the Institute of Child Development at M.V. Lomonosov Pomor State University. In addition to contributing to the university’s core area “Developed medical care and public health in the north (polar medicine)”, the Institute is developing its own research “Human health and adaptation in the North”
BRI is a research institute, but it offers postgraduate and doctoral studies in Physiology specialty.
Our Institute also holds a thesis committee for the degree of candidate of biological sciences, as well as a thesis committee for the degree of Doctor of Science in physiology and psychophysiology specialties.
In 2013 a magistracy in extreme physiology is going to be opened in concert with other institutes of NArFU.
