December, 2017. NArFU won the contest within the priority project «Universities as Centers for Innovative Space Creation» dedicated to the development of university centers for innovative, technological and social development of the regions.
March, 2017. Two associations NAREC and UArctic signed the Cooperation Agreement outlining concrete collaboration plans like joint research projects, students and staff mobility, international events and expeditions.
March, 2017. Opening of Arctic Biomonitoring Laboratory within the framework of Megagrant allocated to NArFU by the Government of Russian Federation
March 29-30, 2017. IV International Arctic Forum “Arctic – Territory of Dialogue” took place on NArFU campus in Arkhangelsk. Official meeting with the President of Iceland was held as a side event of the Forum.

April 11, 2012. Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin issued the director of FSFE Northern Department for Hydrometeorological and Environmental Monitoring Leonid Vasiliev a grant of the Russian Geographical Society for the purposes of Floating University project.
April 17, 2012. The Russian Ministry of Education signed decree No. 302 on liquidation of Saint-Petersburg State Marine Engineering University’s branch Sevmashvtuz and transfer of its employees, students and assets to now NArFU’s branch in Severodvinsk.
May 1, 2012. An idea competition for NArFU’s talisman was launched.
May 15, 2012. Representatives of Hermle officially presented the unique equipment installed in the workshop of NArFU’s Technical College in Severodvinsk (HERMLE C 42 processing center).
June 1, 2012. The unique project “Floating University” was launched.

September 5-16, 2011. For the first time Arkhangelsk holds an Arctic-related documentary film festival titled Arctic Cinema.
September 22–23, 2011. Arkhangelsk holds the II International Forum “Arctic: Territory of Dialogue”.
September 23, 2011. NArFU opens the research office of UArctic.
October 21, 2011. NArFU and RosHydromet sign cooperation agreement. Among the joint implementations is the “Floating University” project.
November 10–12, 2011. NArFU holds the XL Lomonosov Readings. The celebration of the 300th birthday of the great scientist in Arkhangelsk Region was attended by about 300 people.
November 11, 2011. Ceremony for unveiling of the monument to Mikhail Lomonosov in the hall of NArFU’s main building.
November12, 2011. RF Prime Minister V.V. Putin issued a decree to award NArFU Rector Elena Vladimirovna Kudryashova with the Russian Federation Government Prize 2011 in education.
November14, 2011. Moscow school of management Skolkovo launched the personnel reserve programme titled “Arctic Vector of NArFU’s Strategic Development”.
November 15, 2011. RF Minister of Education and Science Andrey Fursenko issued the decree to set up supervisory committee of FSAEE HPE “M.V. Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University”.
November 18, 2011. The Northern (Arctic) Federal University joined the Eurasian Association of Universities.
November19, 2011. NArFU hosted a number of events devoted to the 300th anniversity of M.V. Lomonosov and among them the official meeting of the academic council, the public meeting and laying the foundation of the university’s new library building.
December 5, 2011. The summer research expedition on board the Professor Molchanov set sail.
December 6, 2011. The official opening of the publications and printing center named after V.N. Bulatov.
December12, 2011. NArFU and JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation signed an agreement on establishment of the Institute of Shipbulding and Arctic Marine Engineering.
