(30 ECTS)
Northern (Arctic) Federal University invites international students to take part in the spring semester program «EU and Russia in the Arctic: History of Cultural and Political Interaction» starting from September 2016.
The course outcomes reflect understanding the EU Arctic policy development as a dynamic phenomenon, including the historical memories, contemporary practices and experiences of the diverse nations (Nordic countries, Russia) and communities (indigenous and ethnic groups, modern diasporas) living in the High North. Emphasizing the critical role of political and intercultural communication in the EU Arctic policy formation, special attention will be given to intersections of historical contexts, ethnic and cultural patterns, national and international challenges, revealed in EU — Russian interaction in the High North.
