Forest Monitoring Center

The Forest Monitoring Center, a part of Center for Remote Sensing, is the onliest in Russia designed to detect and identify fire hotspots; impact area; illegal logging hotspots; dry forest areas; tree species composition; trees’ age, height and trunk diameter, thus enabling comprehensive assessment of forested areas.
NArFU is working to create the United National Dispatch Service of the Arctic. This service is designed to monitor the navigation and apply thespecial-purpose GLONASS-based monitoring systems for mobile and stationary facilities.
