«Arctic floating university» project
In 2022, two expeditions will take place as part of the Arctic Floating University 2022.
1st expedition «Around Novaya Zemlya»
Dates: June 24 — July 11, 2022 (duration: 18 days)
2nd expedition «Franz Josef Land»
Dates: July — August 2022 (duration: up to 21 days)
Expedition organizers: Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Roshydromet.
— organize complex interdisciplinary research of the Arctic environment and changes in the ecosystems of coastal Arctic territories;
— training of young researchers and specialists for work in the Arctic region (hydrometeorology, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology, geography);
— promotion of Russian scientific, historical, cultural and natural heritage in the Arctic in the national and international space, popularization of polar specialties among young people.
