NArFU Will Host II International Phd “Russia in the Arctic Dialogue: Local and Global Context”

International PhD School “Russia in the Arctic Dialogue: Local and Global Context” took place at NArFU from 5 to 11 April 2019. The event was held within the framework of the International Forum "Arctic – Territory of Dialogue" and gathered students and top-level experts from 13 countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, China, India, Turkey, France, USA, Canada, Germany, Czech Republic, Republic of Korea and Russia.

In the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, traditional whaling has been preserved. During the expeditionary work, employees of the Arctic biomonitoring laboratory visited the village of Uelkal in early August, whose indigenous inhabitants are engaged in the extraction of sea animals.
