The scientific workshop with international participation “Psychological support of parenthood” is gaining pace. It takes place in the Northern (Arctic) Federal University in the framework of the Russian-German Summer School “Family Values in the Russian North and features of family work”.

On Monday the workshop was attended by the professor of the department of social work and health from the University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer George Roholl. He gave a lecture “Video consultation as a basis for dialogue between parents and professionals”. The professor spoke about short videos with children, which give parents an opportunity to experience the everyday life of their sons and daughters. The participants of the workshop watched a small video prepared by the German side.

— Video consultation provides great opportunities for educational support of children, including those with disabilities, — said George Roholl. — Visual, sensory perception of the situation gives more information for discussion than someone’s words.

The seminar was also attended by the counseling psychologist, a senior lecturer in the Institute of Pedagogics and Psychology of NArFU Natalia Perervus. She held a master class “Once again about love”. The psychologist invited all participants to perform special exercises which are aimed at overcoming internal conflicts. The final part of the seminar included a lecture of a teacher Tamara Chernishova and a master class by a practical psychologist Diana Lagutkina.
