NArFU and Hainan College are planning cooperation

Northern (Arctic) Federal University held a meeting with the Chinese delegation from Hainan College of Software Technology.

In the framework of this meeting NArFU’s Vice Rector for International Cooperation Marina Kalinina told the guests about international collaboration carried out by the university, and her deputy Lubov Zarubina talked about an international project “Bart” which is aimed at development of travel and tourism. Head of NArFU’s recruiting department Polina Golomidova spoke about educational programs of the university, and Lyudmila Siluanova told about undergraduate programs of the Institute of Economics and Management. The representatives of NArFU also showed Chinese collegues a short film about the university.

Professor Shang Zhiqiang from Hainan College of Software Technology talked about his college and the island of Hainan. In contrast to northern Arkhangelsk, Hainan is located in the south of China, on the same latitude as Hawaii. It is a picturesque island with tropical climate. Shang Zhiqiang spoke about living and studying in Hainan, about food and fruits, entertainment and traditional Chinese souvenirs. The participants of the meeting also watched a film about Hainan College.

During the discussion professor Zhang Zhiqiang suggested to organize joint student and teacher exchange programs together with NArFU. Marina Kalinina supported this proposal and noted that Russian language programs can possibly become points of contact between the universities, because our language is getting more and more popular in China. Shang Zhiqiang also expressed interest in joint research projects.

In the end of the meeting the participants presented small gifts to each other.
