On May 11 Scientific Library named after E. I. Ovsyankin hosted an online meeting of 3rd-year journalism students with the chairman of the Union of Journalists Viktor Tolkachev and a member of the Union of Journalists, editor-in-chief of the journal "Magazine" Andrey Zhdanov.

Viktor Tolkachev told the students about the current tasks of the professional journalistic community:

"One of the current tasks is connected with personnel, we want to fill the Union with young technological personnel, so that there is someone to transfer this important public matter to".

Viktor Tolkachev also noted that for the first time Union of Journalists is accepting undergraduate students. On the same day, the honorary certificate was presented to Ivan Sleptsov, a 4th-year student of the Journalism training program. Viktor Tolkachev noted that this document is a kind of bulletproof vest that protects a journalist from the outside world and gives the right and duty to participate in events of public importance, to write about them.

Andrey Zhdanov shared with the students his opinion on joining the Union:
"It gave me an understanding of the tradition of the profession. Working with members of the Union of Journalists made me rethink a lot of things that I thought were clear and established. Being in the professional community, I continue to learn, because you don't get old as long as you master what is difficult to learn".

The guests also answered students' questions and discussed with them the independent publications of the city, the future of print journalism, the scientific metaphor of the latest "Magazine" cover with the rector of NArFU, as well as the desire and unwillingness of graduates to return to work in their hometown.
