15 September 2020 will see a ceremony to mark the closing of the Russian-German Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships 2018-2020. As part of the event, an award ceremony for the winners of the Open Russian-German Call “Russia and Germany: Scientific and Educational Bridges” will be held. Northern Arctic Federal University is among the Call’s participants.
Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries have decided to conduct the ceremony in a hybrid format. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his German colleague Heiko Maas will meet in Berlin to discuss the results of the Year and announce the winners of the Open Call.
Apart from the award ceremony, the event will include two panel sessions. The first one, entitled “Scientific Partners in Dialogue: Russian-German Cooperation Prospects”, will feature leading Russian and German experts in the field of research and education discussing tools and formats for promoting Russian-German academic collaboration and the future priorities of the partnership. The second session “Creating Future Together: Russian-German Scientific Partnership Diversity” will be dedicated to joint efforts to support young researchers.
