On 28-29 November representatives of all Kolarctic-supported projects met in Lulea, Sweden, in the framework of a new period of the Kolarctic CBC–Program. The event was organized by the Kolarctic Managing Authority and its Branch Offices. The programme was diverse, and the event gathered over 60 delegates of 40 partner organizations from Sweden, Finland, Norway and Russia. Nadezhda Baykina, Svetlana Pirogova and Svetlana Popkova, representatives of NArFU Department of International Cooperation, presented the 7 projects currently being implemented at NArFU.
On the first day the participants introduced their projects, their current status and outcomes. Nadezhda Baykina presented the project "De-Concrete: Eco-Efficient Arctic Technologies Cooperation", which marks NArFU’s debut in the role of the Lead Partner in an international consortium.
The presentations were followed by a panel discussion on the relevant specifics of national legislations, project funding issues and further Program development. NArFU’s Svetlana Popkova emphasized the projects’ role as innovative drivers for the university. The session concluded with a discussion of various challenges and risks involved in project implementation.
The second day’s schedule included a training in project promotion moderated by Daniela Cavini, Communication Expert at TESIM. A separate session was focused on project monitoring and project management evaluation. The discussion enabled the partners to arrive at a common understanding of the challenges and allocate the responsibilities.
Summing up the discussions, Riikka Oittinen, Kolartcic Programme Manager, noted the effectiveness of international project team work. She also took the opportunity to announce the final Program Call opening on February 1, 2020 and aimed at supporting micro-projects. Information for potential participants will soon be posted on the Kolartcic official website.
