In the framework of the recent visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, NArFU representatives participated in a number of important meetings on the prospects of academic cooperation with Vietnamese partners.
Of key importance was a meeting that took place on 14 November at the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Education and Training of Socialist Republic of Vietnam and featured Deputy Director General Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Head of International Education Division Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lien and Director of the Hanoi Branch of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Dat.
The meeting covered supporting talented graduate and PhD students from Vietnam coming to Russia to study under Vietnam’s priority training areas; potential governmental endorsement for joint educational programs; joint efforts to support Russian language and culture in Vietnam. The meeting was held in a constructive way and positive atmosphere.
NArFU extends its gratitude to Prof. Hoang Van Sam, Director of International Cooperation Division at Vietnam National University of Forestry, for his invaluable assistance in organizing the meeting and contribution to the development of joint initiatives.
NArFU Rector Prof. Elena Kudryashova thanked the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Vietnam in the person of its head, Director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Hanoi, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam Ms. Natalia Shafinskaya, for support in establishing contacts with Vietnamese partners.
Through the efforts of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Vietnam and its Director, a meeting with representatives of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) – Ms. Le Thi Lam Tra, Deputy General Manager, HR Division, Mr. Nguyễn Anh Phương, Director at the Russian Representative Office, and colleagues from subdivisions - became possible.
The high degree of interest in cooperating can be attributed to the fact that RUSVIETPETRO, a joint venture of PetroVietnam and Zarubezhneft operating in Nenets Autonomous District, and NArFU can potentially assist in training and retraining petroleum specialists. This prospect was the focus of the meeting. In order to share NArFU’s experience in the field and discuss further collaboration options, Prof. Elena Kudryashova invited the Vietnamese colleagues to visit the federal university at their convenience.
