On 15 November 2019, in the framework of a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, NArFU delegation headed by the Rector, Prof. Elena Kudryashova, paid a call to Hanoi University of Business and Technology.
The visit began with a meeting with HUBT administration - First Vice-President Dr. Do Que Luong, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Mr. Tran Duc Minh, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language Mr. Le Thanh Van, Vice-Director of Institute of International Cooperation Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dau, Dr. Do Trong Thieu and faculty members.
In the framework of the meeting the parties discussed their bilateral cooperation in further detail and signed an action plan for 2020-2022, elaborating on the Cooperation Agreement concluded in June 2019. The partners plan to develop academic mobility with a view to promote South-East Asia studies, Russian and Vietnamese languages, and to facilitate joint research, publications and training programs development.
“We consider the document to be very important as it lays down the potential cooperation areas we discussed previously”, stated Prof. Elena Kudryashova. NArFU Rector also expressed deep gratitude to Vietnamese colleagues: Vice-Rector for International Cooperation - Mr. Tran Duc Minh, Vice Rector-Prof. Nguen Cong Nghiep and Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language -Mr. Le Thanh Van for their visit to NArFU in June 2019 and sharing valuable experience of Vietnam with Russian colleagues. “Your visit left us with very fond memories and we are very grateful to you for your kind invitation to visit HUBT”, remarked the Rector.
NArFU delegation was also introduced to HUBT’s medicine cluster. Upon the invitation of her Vietnamese colleagues, Prof. Elena Kudryashova gave an open lecture on NArFU’s status as the academic center of the Russian Arctic and the prospects of bilateral collaboration with HUBT, which generated much interest.
It is particularly noteworthy that the atmosphere throughout the events was exceptionally warm and hospitable.
In appreciation of the support and attention given to the Russian language and culture in Hanoi University of Business and Technology, Prof. Kudryashova presented HUBT with Pomor Encyclopedia written and edited by NArFU faculty members. Another gift was a traditional northern women’s outfit exclusively made for Vietnamese colleagues by the outstanding artist from Arkhangelsk Nikolai Teryukhin We do hope that the image of Vietnamese girl wearing traditional northern Russian outfit on special occasions (Russian culture festivals) will spiritually connect Arkhangelsk and Hanoi and strengthen our friendship!
Northern Arctic Federal University expresses its deep gratitude to the administration of Hanoi University of Business and Technology in the person of its Vice-Rector Dr. Do Que Luong, Vice-President Mr.Tran Duc Minh, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language Mr. Le Thanh Van and Ms. Hong Hanh Lai and faculty members for their warm welcome in Hanoi.
