Arkhangelsk - Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has established a scholarship program for students of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after MV Lomonosov. Students studying the impact of digital technology on the development of the northern territories can apply for grants of up to 100,000 rubles.
The scholarship will be awarded to young specialists who won the research competition. They have to offer options for solving the problems that digital transformation poses for business, economics and the university in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. For the preparation of projects, 4 topics will be proposed: “New opportunities for the business of a telecommunications company taking into account regional specifics”, “Digital technologies as a tool to improve the quality of life in the remote territories of the Arctic zone”, “Digitalization of Arctic mega-projects”, “University of the future”.
Specialists, bachelors and masters of full-time, part-time, part-time forms of training at NArFU will be able to take part in the project. Both individual and team projects can apply for a grant. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until December 19, 2019. Until March 31, 2020, it is necessary to prepare a research paper. In May, the expert commission will determine three winners, among which a cash fund of 200,000 rubles will be distributed. The author or team of the best project will receive a grant of 100,000 rubles, for the second and third place - 60,000 and 40,000.
On October 19, the Tele2 scholarship program was presented as part of the opening at the NArFU of the “Boiling Point” co-working center, a new university space for the collective work of students and teachers, as well as university partners. Master classes, round tables and lectures on relevant topics, including by representatives of the mobile operator, will be held on the site.
At the grand opening, the commercial director of the Tele2 Arkhangelsk branch Artem Soldatov talked about how business and the learning process are changing under the influence of digital technologies, also announced the start of the scholarship program, talked about its stages, topics and prize pool.

Tele2 entered into a long-term cooperation agreement with NArFU in September 2019. Partnership implies joint activities that contribute to the successful learning of relevant skills and the adaptation of students to the real requirements of the labor market.
