On 12 June 2019 Finland’s Aalto University hosted a communications training dedicated to analytical report development for effective legislation and decision-making. The event was organized for the academic community in the framework of the project “Development of a Think Tank Functions of the Northern Dimension Institute”.
Among the participants were experts from Aalto University, Northern Arctic Federal University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, the University of Oulu, Northern State Medical University. NArFU was represented by Marina Kalinina, Rector’s Adviser on International Cooperation, Elena Golubeva, Professor at the Department of Social Work and Social Security, Anna Solovyova, Professor at the Department of World History, and Maxim Zadorin, Associate Professor at the Department of International Law and Comparative Jurisprudence.
Representatives of the Finnish communications agency Kaskas Media, the Finnish Ministry of the Environment, the Smart Energy Transition project, the University of Helsinki presented their best practices and shared experience. In the course of international team work the participants gained skills necessary for interacting with decision-makers and sharing their research results and policy recommendations in an effective manner.
The first results of joint research in the framework of the project will be introduced at the annual Northern Dimension Future Forum scheduled to take place on 28 November 2019 in Helsinki.
