During his visit to Northern Arctic Federal University on 27 February 2018, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov answered students’ questions on new technologies and expressed his support for the project of an interregional memorial event dedicated to the memory of the defenders of the Motherland.
Albert Chunkevich, Head of NArFU Student Government Council, asked the guest about the prospects of digitalization in Russia. Mr. Shuvalov responded that he viewed the process as instrumental in improving life quality in Russia and increasing the availability of various services and goods to the population.
Answering the question on the role of NArFU in the development of Russia the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized NArFU’s status as an intellectual driver of the country alongside 19 other key universities. “One of NArFU’s advantages is that it has managed to preserve the traditions of practice-oriented learning”, added Mr. Shuvalov.
The students were also interested in his perspective on the development of entrepreneurship and volunteering in Russia.
The meeting was held in the framework of the First Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Arkhangelsk, and on the same day Igor Shuvalov took part in the conference on the issues of supporting small and medium businesses in the Arctic regions.
