Two project applications featuring NArFU have gained support in the framework of SIU’s High North Programme. The total grant amount for 2016-2018 is more than 6 million USD.

The first project – the international educational programme Travel and Tourism Management - is aimed at the development of international mobility within the bachelor degree course jointly implemented by the NArFU Higher School of Economics and Management, Harstad University College (Norway) and Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Finland). The programme implies annual international winter and summer schools involving travel and government agencies responsible for tourism development. Students will develop diploma projects in groups under the joint supervision of teachers from the three universities.

The second winner is the International Summer School of Forest Management project co-supervised by the NArFU Forestry Institute and Nord-Trøndelag University College (Norway). The school will be held in the summer of 2016 in the Arkhangelsk region. Norwegian and Russian students will have an opportunity to develop their forest management skills through participation in lectures, seminars and research fieldwork.
