NArFU young scientists will receive grants from the Russian Science Foundation for the Presidential Program of Research Projects
The Russian Science Foundation announced the results of grant competitions for the “Conducting research by research teams under the guidance of young scientists” and “Conducting initiative research by young scientists” of the Presidential program of research projects. Among the winners are three representatives of NArFU.
The first competition is associated with the support of a new generation of scientific leaders. The Foundation will provide grants for young candidates and doctors of science under the age of 35 years. It marked the senior research officer of the Center for collective use of scientific equipment "Arctic" Nikolai Ulyanovsky with the project "Development of a comprehensive mass spectrometric method for studying the composition of lignin processing products." He won a grant of 5 million rubles for 3 years.
The second competition was aimed at supporting young people under the age of 33 who defended their dissertations. The list of the best includes two projects of NArFU scientists. Dmitry Lakhmanov, Junior Researcher at the Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment “Arctic” and Arctic biomonitoring Laboratory, presented the project “Study of the Modification Process of Condensed Lignins and the Development of the Scientific Basis for the Synthesis of New Materials Based on Their Properties with Anion-Exchange Properties and Corrosion Inhibiting Metals”. Anton Ladesov, engineer of the Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment "Arctic", presented the project “Study of the processes of interaction of lignin with ionic liquids”. Scientists will receive grants of 1.5 million for 2 years.
In total, as a result of two competitions, the Foundation supported 503 initiative projects of 1.5–2 million rubles annually and 313 youth research groups with funding of 3–5 million rubles
