Aurora promotion events are being held in Partner Universities
Partner universities in Russia as well as EU are busy hosting promotion events for students, researches and staff alike.
Novosibirsk State University
The International Office of Novosibirsk State Technical University held a seminar on the Aurora 2012 project. About 150 students and staff memebrs including young scholars, heads of departments, deans, Vice-Rectors, took part in the seminar and showed much interest in participation in the projects.
Northern Arctic Federal University
The International Relations Team of Northern (Arctic) Federal University gathered over 100 students and academic staff for two information meetings devoted to the Erasmus Mundus Aurora project.
The sessions were held in the University campus and the NArFU Severodvinsk branch.
Being a new academic mobility project for Northern (Arctic) Federal University Erasmus Mundus Aurora opens vast possibilities for its students and staff for training and studying abroad. And it was more than a satisfaction to see so many people realizing this fact and showing much interest in continuing their education and improving their professional competences.
In the course of the info session the participants learnt about the origin of the program and partner universities profiles. They also got acquainted with the program’s web-page and the general requirements for the application package. The detailed information on the web site facilities and documentation preparation gave a good start for discussions. Students asked a good share of questions concerning fields of studies they can apply to within the grant, application procedure, and credibility of their stay in basic university.
The possibilities for short-term research visits and opportunities to give a course of lectures to foreign students appealed greatly to the academic staff of NArFU and current PhD students. It is common knowledge that comparison of teaching and research methods gives a good background for developing new approaches to instruction and scientific work in partner universities. Moreover it can give a good start to joint educational projects and beneficial cooperation.
The sessions are hoped to encourage students and staff of NArFU to take this unique opportunity to get experience in studying and teaching abroad, making research and develop new scientific projects.

Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University
On November 13, 2012 Deputy Director for International Cooperation of External Relations Office of KFU, Mrs. Olga Vershinina, and the head of the Unit for International Projects and Academic Mobility, Mrs. Olga Pavlova, presented Erasmus Mundus programs to students, Master’s Degree students and teachers of the University.
During presentation Mrs. Olga Vershinina familiarized the attendees with application submission procedure and answered questions.
It is worth saying that in the framework of participation in Erasmus Mundus program projects Kazan University is not only sending its officers and students for studying abroad, but also welcoming foreign students to study in KFU and inviting teachers to deliver lectures in KFU.

Pacific National University
The Department of International Affairs of Pacific National University held two Aurora theme seminars on 25th of October & 8th of November 2012.
The first meeting was focused on presentation to demonstrate study and research opportunities of the Aurora project for students, researchers and staff members. Vice Deans for strategic development and international collaboration and heads of departments were originally involved in this seminar. Problems connected with recognition of studies and qualifications in the European partner universities and enhancement of long-term cooperation between faculties and departments were energetically discussed during this seminar. Speakers paid much attention to such opportunities as participation of applicants in undergraduate, master and doctorate level in scholarship programs and mutual assistance in raising scientific qualification of faculty members by internships.
The theme of the second seminar was devoted to the methodological aspects of application procedure and selection process.
Coordinators of the project organize regular consultation for prospective studenst, researchers and teachers who wish to apply. About 130 undergraduate and postgraduate students took part in this consultations and showed much interest in participation in Aurora project. Further more the printed versions of leaflets were distributed among participants.
