The Offshore Preparedness Conference is a forum for Norwegian and international collaboration and experience exchange linked to emergency preparedness issues both on- and offshore. Bodø hosted this year’s conference on 31st of May – 1st of June.
The representatives of NArFU have attended the kick-off meeting hosted 28 May to 2 June by the international project “Bridging Libraries across Boarders: Towards New Vision and Role in Society”.
Graduation ceremony of the “Bachelor of Circumpolar Studies” programme was conducted within the Council on International Cooperation of the Northern Arctic Federal University last week wherein Nord University diplomas were delivered. The BCS programme has been realized by Nord University and NArFU since 2004 under the aegis of the University of the Arctic.
On May 20, In the Intellectual Center - Scientific library NArFu everyone could visit the NArFU Museum of History, the Reading Room with the rare books and collections, the virtual branch of the Russian Museum, the Museum of Engaging Sciences. There were about 10 platforms in common.

The President of the Russian Federation has made a speech at the plenary session “Humans in the Arctic”, which took place in the framework of the International Forum “Arctic: Territory of Dialogue”.
Within the framework of the forum "Arctic: Territory of Dialogue", of which NArFU was appointed as a venue for the second time, on March 29, a working meeting of the University scientists with colleagues from Singapore was held at the NArFU Intellectual Centre – Scientific Library.

NARFU is focusing on the new opportunities of the EU Research and Innovation programme «Horizon 2020»
Richard Burger, research and innovation Counselor of the European Union Delegation to the Russian Federation, presented the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme «Horizon 2020» on the first day of the International Arctic Forum ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’. This event was organized on the base of the NARFU Intellectual center- scientific library named after E.I. Ovsyankin.
A roundtable discussion “Arctic as a new vector of cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Korea” was held at the Intellectual center — the research library n.a. E.I. Ovsyankin.
UArctic Reseach office in Arkhangelsk is hosting a new intern, Léa Giffard. Léa helps administering the Russian version of UArctic website, she gives a hand in translating research articles and takes part in the pooling of ideas in the office, which intensively works in constant fostering of intenational education and research projects.

Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University), the Forum will revolve around the key topic of ‘Man in the Arctic’ and has a program listing over 40 events, including 32 thematic sessions, 2 plenary sessions and one extended meeting of the National Commission on Arctic Development.
The multicultural education program “Basics of Multicultural Education” within the framework of EU Tempus project “ALLMEET//Actions of Lifelong Learning addressing Multicultural Education and Tolerance in Russia” took place from November 30 to December 13, 2016.
