NArFU to Host the IV Barents Summer PhD School

On 21-25 August 2017 Northern Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov will become a venue for the International PhD Students’ Summer School (Barents PhD School). The event is a part of a long-term project on academic cooperation in the Barents region. Among the participants are five BEAR universities: Northern Arctic Federal University, the University of Oulu (Finland), the University of Tromsø – the Arctic University of Norway, Umeå University (Sweden). Co-organized by Northern (Arctic) Federal University and Northern State Medical University, the School will be held in Arkhangelsk for the first time.

IX Arctic Floating University Expedition Reaches Its Northernmost Point

The Arctic expedition onboard the research vessel «Professor Molchanov» has reached the coordinates of 81 degrees, 15 minutes, 7 seconds north latitude, northward of Kuhn and Kein islands (Franz Joseph Land). This marks the expedition’s northernmost point since the project’s launch in 2012.

Bachelor of Circumpolar Studies diplomas were awarded at NArFU

Graduation ceremony of the “Bachelor of Circumpolar Studies” programme was conducted within the Council on International Cooperation of the Northern Arctic Federal University last week wherein Nord University diplomas were delivered. The BCS programme has been realized by Nord University and NArFU since 2004 under the aegis of the University of the Arctic.
