What is it like to be an exchange student in Russia? Victor Théorêt (Québec, Canada) and Clelia Cuzzolin (Italy) shared their experience and explained why Arkhangelsk is a better choice for foreigners than Saint-Petersburg or Moscow, what they would like to bring to Russia from their home countries, and where the most beautiful places are in the city.
Arkhangelsk saw the completion of the 4th Russian and Korean Rectors’ Forum. The final stage of this event discussed how cooperation can be established between the universities and SMEs. Also, the prospects of further cooperation between the Russian and the Korean universities were discussed.

On the 21st of September 2016 the results of the international peer-review panel of two NArFU’s educational programmes within the TEMPUS ALIGN “Achieving and checking the alignment between academic programmes and qualification frameworks”-project were evaluated on the Board of the National Centre for Public Accreditation (NCPA).

In frames of the celebration which marks the 75th anniversary since the arrival of the first union convoy to the port of Arkhangelsk under the title of Dervish Princess Anne and her delegation visited the Northern Artic Federal University on 31 August.
In late August, Arkhangelsk is to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the arrival in its port, on 31 August 1941, of the first allied convoy Dervish with military cargoes for the Soviet Army to fight the Nazi Germany. Professor at NArFU Department of General History Andrey Repnevsky is convinced that the cooperation maintained by the West and the USSR during World War II can be re-ignited.

On 25 June – 5 August 2016 NArFU students take part in the Master course “A Changing Arctic” offered within the joint project between the University of Oslo and Northern (Arctic) Federal University “AwaRE: Arctic Research and Education” (SIU High North Programme). The course is organized on the premises of the University of Oslo as part of the 70th International Summer School.
Today we took the opportunity to meet a guest of our university, Libor Lněnička, a representative of Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. In addition to discussing his visit, we were pleased to ask our guest about the city of Brno and to discover that Arkhangelsk is not the first Russian city Libor has been to.
Professor Andre Govaert: NArFU did a good job developing its master’s programs. Expert of TEMPUS ALIGN European project team Andre Hovaert (Belgium) gave positive feedback about the level of preparedness for international accreditation achieved by NArFU’s two master’s programs.
